NOTD featuring Revlon Gold Coin and OPI Extravagence

Hi All!

Today I am back in the land of the living and not feeling so zombiefied with my new routine, I won't go into it too much here but basically I wake at 5.30 leave house at 6.30 train is at 7.30 get there at 8.30 work 9-5, train at 5.15 back in Edinburgh 6.15 and back in house after a bus journey at 7pm so yeah fun times! I am moving to Glasgow soon though so this is only temporary thankfully!!!

Anyway...here is my back to work mani, every single person I met complimented my nails that includes the 9 boys in my class!!!

I used my OPI Extravagence with my new Revlon Gold Coin on thumb and ring, and added freehand leopard print onto the gold! I love it have had it on since Sunday and don't want to take it off lol! I may try to get a 3rd day out of it or I might redo something tonight not sure yet, will see how I feel after dinner!!!

Until next time...

NOTD featuring Barry M Blue Moon

Hiya!

This was a forerunner for my Back to Work mani but I decided it was too plain and I needed something with a bit more pizazz :D

Barry M Blue Moon, this is 3 coats and its still a little sheer, I think formula wise this is very thin compared to other Barry M's I have

Then of course because I couldn't leave well enough alone here it is stamped...

I used Barry M Navy for the stamping

What I used
  • Barry M Blue Moon
  • Barry M Navy
  • Bundle Monster BM208
Thats it lovelies, very plain and simple :D Hope you like it! I will show what I chose for my back to work mani soon!

Until next time...

NOTD featuring Cupcakes!

Hi my lovelies!
Todays mani was suggested by my good friend Sarah, she suggested a pink gradient with cupcakes and even named the BM plate I should use :D

Right hand with mini fail on ring finger, at least I tried to fix it though hehe!

The enigmatic left hand ;)

Close up arty shot and you can see the awesomeness of the glitter topcoat!

What I used...
  •  Stargazer topcoat as base and top cos am a dunce!
  • Poundland Starshine as the base colour (seriously the best fricking silver ever!)
  • Then I sponged 17 Fairycake from about a 2/3's of the nail down to the tip
  • Next I took 2True in Shade 1 and sponged that from the last 3rd to the tip
  • Stamped cupcakes on ring fingers and thumb using BM13 and Konad Black
  • Lastly coated every nail with the amazing WetnWild Kaleidoscope, I love this polish so sparkly and eyecatching :D

Final Part of Nail Art Series plus Special Announcement!!!

Hi EVERYONE!

Here is the final installment of my Nail Art Series inspired by Blogging friends. Every single girl I have done this for has been so so gracious and really got a kick out of it and that makes me all warm and gooey inside!
This one kinda decided it wanted to be a fail mani but I still think it turned out cute :D

This one was inspired by Jennifer over at TheExoticLacquer who is such a sweetie, go check her out if you haven't already!

I decided to use feathers and peacocks for this one and silver and purple polish to give the exotic feeling to it! The purple Jen may recognise as she gave it to me in a swap!

I used
  • Sinful Colors Fiji
  • Poundland Silver (thee best silver I have ever tried!)
  • Konad White
  • Konad Black
  • BM15
NOW....
Onto the mega second super duper part (well I think it is anyway...)

I am close approaching 300 followers and didnt want to do another giveaway for that, I wanted something my readers could properly participate in, this series just gave me the proper idea for it.

I am going to hold a contest now following on from this, a NAIL ART contest and the theme is my blog name...yes a little gratitous but hey ho I may as well saying as I had so much fun getting inspired by other blog names lol!

There will be a prize for this including
  • Revlon Facets of Fuchsia (Deborah Lippman Bad Romance Dupe)
  • Colleen Green Eyeshadow Palette (a NEW one, I have showed a look done with this quad before)
  • Mini Benefit Benetint
  • Assortment of Sweeties
  • And maybe more depending on funds
The rules are as follows
  • Open INTERNATIONALLY
  • Closes 30th September so just over 4weeks to get your entry in
  • Must be your theme inspiration to my blog name, quite a broad range that you could do really ;)
  • Stamping/Freehand etc is allowed
  • Entries must be emailed to me with your blogname, full name and pictures of the mani, can be one handed or two I don't mind. EMAIL address at Contact tab at top!
  • You must have a valid email address for me to respond to so I can confirm you are in the contest and that I have received your pictures ok
  • On the 30th when the contest closes, I will make a post with all the entries and open it to public voting for 1 week. I will add a poll so everyone can vote anonymously for their faves!
That's it guys I really hope you all enter and have fun doing so! I know I did when doing this series!

New Nailart Series - Inspired by Bloggers! Pt3

Hiya! Here is part 3 of this weeks Nailart Series! I really enjoyed doing this one as I got to play with my new Bundle Monster plates hehe!

This one might be a bit harder to guess but when I see her blog this is more what I think of lol!

Any guesses?

This one is inspired by Neeka over at IntheLifeofaMILF!

Might not be obvious to all but this is my interpretation of a milf hehe, Princess crowns, killer heels, diamonds, kisses and bling!!!

For this look I used China Glaze Limbo Bimbo, stamped with Bundle Monster plates in Konad Black and White and for the pinky I used SallyGirl Silver Glitter

If you all want to know what plate numbers these are just leave a comment below and I will let you know :)

I have 2 more of these to do and I am loving every minute of doing them! When I show the last one I will be announcing something special so keep your eyes peeled for that ;)

NOTD featuring WetnWild Gray's Anatomy!

Hiya!
Just a quick post to show off WetnWild Gray's Anatomy that I received from both Jennifer and Carla! Its a very pretty polish but awfully hard to photograph, it pulls mostly purple on my nails but it has a purple/grey/green multichrome which you can see better in the 2nd pic

Thats it for today, thanks for your continued reading and commenting, I really do apprectiate it and it makes me so happy to read every single comment!

NOTD

Hi my lovies! Today I bring another NOTD to you, this time using Avon Speed Dry+ in Rose Amour

Compared to my last Avon NOTD, I actually really like this one, the first pic isn't true to colour but the 2nd and 3rd are more like it. Its still not as bright as my usual style but definitely not bland :D

Close Up

This is 3 coats and you can still see somewhat of VNL but its not in your face obvious only when you look real close!

Cute pearls added on my ring fingers as accents. This polish had a shimmery underton of gold so its really very pretty in the light, unfortunately we are under a severe weather warning again here so no sunshiney pictures for me today!

NOTD

Hiya!
Here is todays NOTD, last night I done a collection spreadsheet using google docs (see the link at the top you can all view my collection there) While doing the spreadsheet I realised I had so many polishes I had never used or never shown you guys so I am going to make an effort to get through my list so you can all see and I can also get to wear them instead of moving towards my faves all the time hehe!

This is Avon Nailwear Pro in Romance

I am going to tell the truth here, I don't like it, its sheer, streaky and too light for my tastes but its ok, I suppose it would be nice for someone that likes lighter colours but as you all know I like bright polish colours and very rarely wear pale colours.

Just for fun here is another close up artsy shot like was in the last NOTD, this one wasn't an accident I quite like it!
I had to add something to it so the ring fingers as usual my go to accent nail have a random pink glitter on them from my striper collection.
Hope you like it

NOTD

Hi Girlies, cant believe it is August already this year is flying by, pretty soon it will be my birthday and Christmas :)

Todays post is a NOTD of a lemming polish I had for a little while, this is Marks & Spencers Rainbow, its a bit pricey than I would normally pay at £7.50 but its fricking linear holographic, yes I said it HOLOGRAPHIC!!! So on this one occasion I didn't mind paying for it :)

Swatch pic - indoor light so you cant see the holo too much but take this baby in the sunshine and oh my gosh but you need sunglasses on!!!

Bottle pic, click to enlarge you can see the holo better here :)

Because I am a dunce and was enjoying time with my boyfriend I forgot to take a sunshine picture but I will do as soon as I can for you all to see believe me it is awesome, I would recommend any UK ladies to hit up M&S right now :D

Total fail but on the plus side a really pretty colour, this is 2true nail polish in shade 3, I got it from superdrug and I think it was about £2 definitely not much more if it was over that

Another Question Answered (how I got into Nail Polish)...and NOTD featuring Instyle Candy

Ok so last week when I asked if anyone had any questions they would like me to answer, Susie requested that I talk about my love for nailpolish and how I got into it?

Well Susie here is your answer my dear :)

When I was little I was the biggest and I mean biggest tomboy but I didnt like getting dirty or anything like that haha but I always had my nails painted for some strange reason lol!
My mum wasn't the type that wore makeup everyday (only on special occasions) and she never wore nail polish (even to this day if you paint her nails she will pick if off straight away!)

I always had nail polish though cos I had one aunty who I seen regurlarly and always had her nails painted so I can only assume that is where my nail polish obsession came from lol!

I always used to watch her and want to copy her, my actual need for my own polish and stuff i reckon came around the time I started high school and seen everyone else having all their own stuff so thats where it really took off I reckon.

I was never really a collector as such I just grabbed whatever nail polish I liked the look of and once I got fed up with it, I gave it away or threw it away.
Before I moved over here to Edinburgh all my nail stuff was given to my sister, so I came to edinburgh with a french manicure set of polishes and that was it! Now I am starting afresh and learning so many new things I am loving it, it feels like a new beginning and I am happy with that...

I want to get to learn how to freehand nail art and do more Konad, I am currently compiling a mental wishlist of which brands I wanna try and such aswell :)

Well I think that is my nail polish history all up to date, I hope you enjoyed reading!

Shel xo

ps - I thought I would put todays manicure picture in here aswell saying as we are on the topic of nail polish :)
